Cuttin the Rug

“Cuttin’ the Rug” is more of the Dixieland type of thing, but still a singer-songwriter approach. Written mostly about my two different friends of mine who like to dance, and dance alone, “Cuttin the Rug” was released as a single a couple years ago, but makes its first appearance on CD here. Dale Mills plays a wonderful clarinet solo, one of my personal favorite moments on the whole CD, while Jon Dryden (formerly of Norah Jones’ band) plays some nice piano. In lieu of a bass, I recruited New Orleans-via-LA tuba player Tuba Red... and a couple months later there he was playing on the Super Bowl half time show!
